Originally wrote and released in 2014 Simon aka One Half of Bent explains the story behind the release.

March 2014 had me reflecting on a more personal place and atmosphere. Memories of visiting my grandparents on my mum’s side. I think some of my fondest recollections are from those visits. There was a cosy safeness about it, which I latched onto as a kid, having had a slightly unstable upbringing. In fact, I think that’s where I get my obsession with certain warm atmospheres in my work. Music is medicinal of course!

Every visit from the 70s 'til the 90s was filled with my slightly older aunt and I playing video games. We went from early pong consoles right through to the Sega Megadrive (so I had to do a reference to Sonic The Hedgehog!)

I went deeply into myself producing this release. My grandma Jill is someone I miss greatly to this day, and in a way, it was cathartic to make this release, and to remember the good times. I actually didn’t want to step into another universe for the following month's EP.
