I so often find, that the simplest minds are ahead of me They say peace of mind is easier to find when you leave it be Then why is there a tide, pulling all that’s mine far away from me? But you’re the one and maybe that you’re the one who started it all But you’re the one and maybe that you’re the one who started it all I always deny that the smallest mind can carry more than me But why is those crimes, the ones I left behind, are easier to see? But you’re the one and maybe that you’re the one who started it all But you’re the one and maybe that you’re the one who started it all Stop calling calling calling me. Stop calling calling calling me But you’re the one and maybe that you’re the one who started it all

Only when he thought he was alone Could he strip the truth down to the bone Naked and alight he saw a different body Always more than one side to a story Choosing one side might be safe, beware it's boring Hurry, hurry see them both More she said, more he gave More she claimed of him More he gave in She has filled her skin with little stones Weary of their weight she feels her bones collide Crawling on the ground she knows that he has flown now More she said, more he gave More she claimed of him More he gave in We've all forgotten what the heart is for We've all forgotten what the heart is for We've all forgotten what the heart is for We've all forgotten what the heart is for

Now all I know is this strange fever in my heart Can't let it go cause it's new Little blows from my mind contradicts my heart Wisdom pearls falling through We all start alone We all start alone Now all I see is the light growing in your eyes Can't let it go cause it's you Running fast from what's mine to the greener grass I do not know what I do We all start alone We all start alone We all start alone We all start alone

she's always dancing in her sleep, wearing out her little feet They will hold her till the morning light burns up the night of dreams The morning light is far too bright it seems now Oh, what a wonderful world Oh, what a wonderful world He is a fighter secretly, but too scared to let them see He is waiting for another life a better fight to flee Another life a better fight to flee Oh, what a wonderful world Oh, what a wonderful world

Ragz Nordset has been acoustic favourite in the North West of England for a number of years (where’s she’s supported the likes of Wild Beasts, Noah and the Whale and Laura Marling), ‘Sleepdancing’ channels a new electronic direction for the singer, which owes much to the production of Mario Leal. Mario’s previous work involves Mumford & Sons, Digitalique and the Tea Street Band, and the manner in which he harnesses the electronics alongside a classical influence brings out the ethereal and enchanting qualities of Ragz’ voice.

The four track EP is designed specifically as a ‘story to be told’ via Vinyl, with the double sided release segueing two tracks into each other to add to the individual quality of the songs. Side A starts off with the playful ‘You Started It All’, the rumbling sonics dovetailing with a gentle before the shuffling overtones of ‘More’ take over. Here the choral qualities of her voice come to the forefront to create a stirring paean to love, best encapsulated by the closing refrain that opines ‘We’ve all forgotten what the heart is for’.

The B-Side follows the same formula, with ‘New August’ backed by crunching percussion and haunting strings before melting outwards into the EP’s final song, ‘Sleepdancing’. The most evocative of the four tracks, it creates a rousing finale for the EP with its sweeping chords, finalising the narrative charm of the release.
